Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acclaimed for pioneering the study of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in legal settings. Her publications are numerous, she has received numerous grants and is the recipient of numerous awards international and national levels. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments around the world about policies as well as research related to the treatment of children victims of the law by the system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She was a part of numerous professional organizations, including that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is the founder of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been director of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
