Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1995 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 and received great reviews from both music bloggers and the press. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and have been widely praised. Katy Perry's endorsement of her song Runaway on her blog brought the singer additional appreciation. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding a piano in her attic and being awed by the sounds it would create. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music for a love rather than a profession. To achieve this she started writing her own songs that were her own creations. As well as Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Responding to her mother's suggestion that she ought not to aim to be famous through their songwriting skills, she instead be aware of the significance of them and the impact they have on society. She was suggested by her mother to sing her songs in public in order to make people aware of the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she shared her story with her parents. Aurora's success was never her dream. Aurora claims she loves composing music. According to her, the songs she creates are her way of feeling everything.
