Anika Rose is an American actor and singer. Her best-known role is as Tiana The first Disney African American princess. Disney Legends featured the actress as one of their 2011 stars. Rose played Lorrell Robertson, the character in Dreamgirls and was awarded an Academy Award. Anika Noni Rose (born September 6 1972) is an American actor and a singer. Her most well-known role is in the role of Tiana the first Disney African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). She was designated a Disney Legend in 2011. She also has a starring part, playing Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls (2007) which has been nominated to win an Academy Award. And she performs the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on Starz's series Power. Alongside her acting work, she's well-known for her roles was in the theatre. They include Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway adaptation of Caroline or Change (2005) for which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Musical was presented and Beneatha in the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun (2017) for which the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were made.
